Young Achievers
This evening, team eskimosoup is attending the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards. Whilst we’ll support friends and clients shortlisted for categories in what is genuinely a well-respected awards programme locally, we are quite frankly bringing our warmest wave of support for one of our own.
Amongst the team, I’m notoriously bashful about eskimosoup achievements and so I hope I get the tone of this about right.
I nominated Amy Knight for “Young Achiever of the Year” as she is an inspiring young business person using her determination and abilities as a marketer to save lives. All that she is, has done and continues to do epitomises our desired company culture and is a credit to the marketing profession. She was shortlisted for this award in recognition of conduct, character and achievements including notable mentions for:
- Sensitively leading on successful campaigns that matter.
- Rapid promotion to influencing key company decisions and running the business.
- Leading from the front to inspire others.
- Trusted with community and high-profile accounts
- Inspiring the best in others, and
- Achieving through her professional purpose
Anyone who runs a small business on their own as a sole director will no doubt empathise when I say that it is challenging to know if and when you are doing the right thing. Amy’s interest in business and generally giving a damn has been a tremendous influence on the direction of business. We are now more focused and methodical in our business growth and she is invaluable in keeping some of my more whimsical decision-making in check!
Whether the judges award young achiever to Amy or her equally deserving counterpart on the shortlist; she has achieved much for eskimosoup, our clients and partners.
She’ll be joined at the awards dinner by her partner and each of her colleagues at eskimosoup who are all achievers in what they do.
Much like Amy, Jenni has been working independently with clients and innovating with social media with tremendous results. She has been a leader of many tricky and important pieces of work and so this evening will be a double celebration as we have this week promoted her to become eskimosoup’s Social Media Manager.
Megan has proven herself to be incredible at making ideas happen (for real!) and we are blessed to have her in the team alongside her academic pursuits, whilst Alice and Pippa have hit the ground-running leaving in no doubt that we appointed the best people for their crucial roles.
I’m blessed to be supported by a team of young achievers who will continue to innovate, work as a team and achieve social good. Our challenge is to maintain a culture of empowering our team to grow as individuals as our opportunities and responsibilities as a company grow.
So, whatever Amy is awarded we’ll be toasting a team of achievers. Cheers.
