Moving from musicals to marketing.

Hi there. I’m Rachel, the new project manager for eskimosoup, and here is a little bit about me.

I started life dancing, singing and acting and performed for many years in shows ranging from musicals to social good dance pieces. Using performance as a platform to help, educate and engage a community was something I was very passionate about and I knew choosing a job that made a difference to people was important for my career.

As time progressed, I found that I naturally steered towards any events/shows that reached out to a community that wanted social change and started working in events and marketing from this. Creating content and finding the right approach to reach people is something I love doing and never felt too dissimilar to when I perform on stage. It is, in theory, engaging with your audience.

Two years ago, I went back to university to get my Masters in Marketing because I wanted to sharpen my skillset and I came out with a distinction as well as the CIM Marketing Student of the Year Award. After a year of working for Hull Culture & Leisure, I came (jazz hands at the ready) to work at eskimosoup and I could not be happier. Working on creative campaigns that are for social good is my dream job and the team have welcomed me in with open arms.

I still sing, dance and act in my spare time. Who knows, you might even see me in some of our films in the future…

Rach
