Circle North

How do we help a generation of young people navigate the web of health and social challenges affecting them?

Fast-moving societal issues combined with the Department of Education’s statutory mandate for education on a range of sensitive relationship and sexual education topics are putting pressure on secondary schools, police forces, and councils to prepare and protect young people.

There are many resources being created at local level; however, it is difficult to create a wide-ranging, high quality and consistent approach whilst also providing the crucial learning points and type of content that young people will engage with to positively influence knowledge, attitudes and behaviours.

Drawing upon a decade of experience of media co-production and early intervention behaviour change, Eski wanted to create a more engaging and impactful way to help secondary school-aged young people be better prepared for social situations and challenges through social impact entertainment.

We created Circle North; a trusted episodic film drama series produced with young people and subject specialists supported by interactive lesson plans and tools to track and measure learning effectiveness.

Coming from different backgrounds and with a willingness to challenge each other, in each episode the recurring characters share a story that explores a key issue affecting secondary school-aged young people such as child criminal exploitation, sexual harassment, bullying, relationship abuse and radicalisation, brought to life through a supporting cast of over 40 characters.

Across 7 episodes, Circle North provides engaging and realistic storytelling that works as a series or a standalone session to provide young people with knowledge and interventions on key health and social challenges as they emerge.
