Got your back
How do we empower thousands of young people to influence the Public Health issues affecting them?
Recognising that traditional communications and engagement either did not sufficiently involve and engage young people or do so in small numbers, the Chief Executive of NHS Hull CCG commissioned Eski to work with young people in the City to develop options for a better way of working across a range of health and social issues.
Having evaluated related initiatives, we undertook thorough primary research to identify options and the art of the possible.
Working with young people and stakeholders already delivering on youth engagement in Hull, we decided to create “Got Your Back” a co-produced media enabling young people to have the knowledge, support, voice and capability to make positive choices for the issues most important to them.

The initiative ran for 4 years led by a steering group of 13- to 19-year-olds.
Eski supported young people and specialists to creative innovative, and hard-hitting films, campaigns, documentaries, and interactive media. Creating and distributing content through Instagram, YouTube and podcasts the initiative supported early intervention and prevention work on a range of health and social challenges including healthy relationships, pollution, aspiration, and how social media impacts on our health and wellbeing.
The “Editorial Board” co-created bold events and initiatives including holding an under 18s nightclub takeover featuring live music and workshops on the theme of healthy relationships and aspiration that was attended by over 250 young people from a range of backgrounds.
83% brand awareness within one-year, measurable attitude and behaviour change around healthy relationships and relationship abuse prevention.
