Humber Violence Prevention Partnership
How do we ensure youth voice is heard, understood and used to shape better decisions?
Eski were commissioned by Humber Violence Prevention Partnership to map the wide range of youth voice and engagement activity carried out by VCS and Public Sector organisations across the Humber on perceptions of safety and violence in communities.
Engaging and consulting with over 40 organisations, we collated a vast amount of information about what young people were saying, how youth voice was collated and shared, and the ideas and opportunities to reduce organisations working in isolation in order to create a more complete picture of diverse youth activity.
This was further enhanced through Primary research through which over 30 young people working with youth justice services provided live experiences and candid views of “help that helps” and help that doesn’t.
Research and Consultancy
Two comprehensive findings reports were produced along with an interactive map and directory of services collating youth voice. From this research and consultancy, Eski provided recommendations for a cohesive approach to youth voice that did not reinvent the wheel or impinge on existing work and relationships delivered by specialist youth support providers.
Youth Connect was developed to address a common challenge facing organisations working with young people across the Humber region: large volumes of valuable youth engagement activity were taking place, but the insights were often dispersed across reports, surveys, consultation findings and research documents, or in the heads of practitioners, making them difficult to access, analyse and apply consistently.
Youth Connect Hub
Working closely with the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership (Humber VPP), Eski led the creation of Youth Connect, an online repository and AI-powered Youth Voice Mapping tool designed to bring together evidence from across the region into a single, accessible resource. The platform enables professionals to explore youth feedback at scale, helping them understand the issues, concerns and aspirations that matter most to local young people.
By analysing reports, surveys, consultation findings and engagement outputs, the tool identifies recurring themes, highlights emerging issues and connects findings back to their original sources. This creates a transparent evidence base that allows users to move quickly from large volumes of information to actionable insights, supporting more informed decision-making and more effective responses to community safety challenges.
The platform acts as both a resource hub and an analytical tool, bringing together a wide range of youth voice evidence, including findings from initiatives such as Hope Hacks, Youth Justice Services, adolescent lifestyle surveys and wider engagement activity across the Humber region. Rather than replacing youth engagement, the tool strengthens it by making existing youth voice more visible, accessible and influential.
Artificial Intelligence
A key principle throughout the project was responsible and ethical use of AI. The repository contains anonymised, aggregated and ethically produced reports, with no personal or identifiable information included. The AI identifies patterns, themes and interpretations within the available evidence, supporting professional judgement rather than replacing it.
ABy making youth insight easier to access, understand and apply, Youth Connect helps ensure that services, strategies and interventions are shaped by the experiences of the young people they are intended to support.
