Active Imaginations is a website, Facebook page and YouTube channel resource of simple and fun activities that will help 2- to 4-year-olds get their 180 minutes of recommended daily physical activity to help them grow healthily.
Based on the insight that young children have amazing imaginations though for parents it can be difficult to know where to start. Active Imaginations provides an online resource of activities that are free or almost free, can be done indoors or outdoors, in open or limited space, done together or alone and for a range of different situations.

What did
it achieve?
Evidence of positive knowledge and behaviour change amongst parents and carers relating to the amount of daily physical activity for 2- to 4-year-olds.
Children’s Centres and associated professionals valued Active Imaginations as an asset for working with families to encourage daily physical activity.
The campaign was expanded to support families during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
“It's just full of really clever ideas that don't cost anything or a small amount, which is appealing to everyone, very inclusive.”“Marketing materials are brilliant and make it look really professional. Never had so many responses from primary schools when asking if anyone would like materials to give to families!”
