Eski and partners have co-produced a series of virtual reality (VR) interventions to address vehicle theft, substance misuse, and the pressures faced by teenage girls.
As part of the Power of Know campaign, developed with young people in North East Lincolnshire and expanded into North Lincolnshire, Eski’s Youth Engagement and Media teams collaborated with youth services and young people. The programme engaged a diverse range of participants, using different methods to develop characters and scenarios that reflected the hot topics identified by young people themselves.
Over a two-year period, this work culminated in a series of interactive films, designed to be experienced through VR headsets and then explored further in reflective, guided discussion sessions.
Eski has previously co-produced more than 40 films with young people, including interactive “choose your adventure” stories. This was the first time the format was delivered in virtual reality, so we partnered with the talented team at Eon Media to bring their expertise in immersive filmmaking and programming.
The Power of Know VR films, Wrecked, Redemption, and 15, are now available in North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire through the Youth Justice Partnership and Young & Safe teams respectively.
Drawing on the insights gained from this pioneering initiative, Eski’s CEO John Gilbert presented a webinar highlighting five key lessons learned in under 30 minutes.
A trailer for the Power of Know series has also been produced that you can view on the Power of Know website below.
